New A tool for working with behavioural and learning difficulties

The Municipality of Hafnarfjörður has entered into a partnership with Beanfee Ltd, a company that specialises in behaviour training. Beanfee has spent recent years developing the tool in collaboration with the municipality and the University of Iceland, and research by the University of Iceland has already demonstrated its effectiveness in supporting learning and positive behaviour.

Software that provides real-time guidance and support

The tool, also known as Beanfee, is software that connects a student in training with school staff and guardians, with the aim of providing guidance and support in real time. To motivate the student, a dual reward system of incentives and achievement badges is implemented, which is jointly managed by the school and home. Beanfee also offers a powerful information hub that educates users on what they need to know to succeed.

Implementation has begun in the nursery and primary schools of Hafnarfjörður municipality.

Implementation Beanfee is currently underway in the nursery and primary schools of Hafnarfjörður municipality and will be one of the tools of Brúin, a procedure that strengthens support and services for children in nursery and primary schools. Brúin is in line with the Act on the Integration of Services for the Well-being of Children (no. 86/2021), which came into force in Iceland on 1 January 2022. Beanfee is a tool that can be used at all service levels within the framework of Brúin and the Welfare Act. Research indicates that Beanfee can achieve success in various issues related to behavioural and motivational problems that have previously proved difficult to resolve. However, Beanfee can also be used to motivate people to succeed in almost any activity. Beanfee Ltd. aims to continue researching the software's effectiveness in collaboration with the University of Iceland.
