This year, 18 employees received a 25-year service award, and the combined service of this impressive group totals 450 years. The staff have dedicated these years with enthusiasm, professionalism and expertise to a wide variety of roles across the council's sites.
Human resources are the most important resource.
For eight years, the City of Hafnarfjörður has presented awards and tokens of appreciation to all employees who have served the city for 25 and 15 years, in recognition of their professional contribution and service to the city. Recognition for 15 years of service is awarded at each workplace, but those celebrating 25 years of service with the municipality are invited to a celebration at Hafnarborg for the occasion. This year, 18 employees received a 25-year service award, and the combined service of this impressive group totals 450 years. The staff have dedicated these years with enthusiasm, professionalism and expertise to a wide variety of roles across the borough's workplaces. The awards ceremony has become an annual tradition and an essential part of the celebration of success and achievements within the council's staff.

Sigurður Nordal, Director of the Administration Department and Deputy Mayor, thanked the group for their well-done work and loyalty to the City of Hafnarfjörður on behalf of the Mayor, residents, colleagues and the town council, and presented each person with professional and beautiful words compiled for the occasion by their managers and/or colleagues at their workplace.
