The popular and grand Viking Festival takes place from 14th to 18th June in Viðistaðatún. The festival is organised by the Viking society Rimmugýgur and will feature, among other things, battle demonstrations, a craft market, a children's Viking school, archery and music.

The festival was officially opened yesterday, Wednesday 14 June, and concludes on the fifth day, 18 June. The programme includes an open-air market, Viking combat, games, music, crafts and a Viking school for children. Rimmugýgur is the oldest active Viking society in Iceland, and its members are entirely peace-loving and possess a unique even temperament. Come to Víðistaðatún and take part in the Viking festival.
