In December, the Hafnarfjörður Folk Museum invites nursery school children from Hafnarfjörður and the neighbouring municipalities to visit the Sívertsen House, the home of Bjarni Knight Sívertsen and his family on Vesturgata. There, they are told stories about life in the house in times past. Among other things, they hear about the Christmas apples, the visit of the Danish Crown Prince who accepted chocolate with cream, and much more of interest.

After a tour of the house, a quintessential Icelandic Father Christmas joins the group, telling the children amusing stories about himself and his brothers, singing, dancing and frolicking, as well as performing a few light-hearted magic tricks before rewarding them with good gifts.
