Thorvaldur Sveinsson appointed planning officer
Thormod takes up the post of planning officer on 1 October.
Thorvaldur graduated with a degree in architecture from Lund University in 1979, concurrently studying economic geography at the same institution. He obtained a postgraduate degree in planning from the University of Manitoba in Canada in 1988. Thormodur is a registered architect and holds a licence as a building surveyor. He has worked as an architect for over 30 years and has extensive knowledge and experience in the field of planning and construction. Thorvaldur has also taught for many years. He served as Deputy Building Control Officer and Chief Architect in Reykjavik from 1988-1997. He was in private practice from 1997-2013. He has worked for the City of Hafnarfjörður for the past few years and has held the permanent position of architect at the city's planning and building department since 1 June 2015.
Thormod takes up the post of planning officer on 1 October.
