The Hafnarfjörður Town Council resolved at its meeting today that employees of the Town of Hafnarfjörður will be given the afternoon of 19 June 2015 off in celebration of the 100th anniversary of women's suffrage in Iceland.

The Hafnarfjörður Town Council approved at its meeting today that employees of the Borough of Hafnarfjörður will be given the afternoon of 19 June 2015 off in celebration of the 100th anniversary of women's suffrage in Iceland.

Organised celebrations are planned throughout the country on this day, and by giving staff the day off, they are given the opportunity to take part in them.

The town's facilities will therefore be closed from midday on 19 June, but all emergency services will be available.

Hafnarfjörður hereby encourages its employees to take part in the festivities.
