Weather and road conditions continue to affect, among other things, the status of refuse collection in the municipality. As of today, there is a delay of up to 7 days in refuse collection. Residents are advised that they can see the collection day on All addresses in Hafnarfjörður in the rubbish collection calendar on the town's website. Please note that you can add up to 7 days to the specified collection day.

Residents are encouraged to help ensure waste collection from their property by clearing snow from waste storage areas to the property boundary and ensuring that bins are not frozen to the ground. If the bins are not easily accessible, they will not be emptied until the next scheduled collection. The grey/energy bin is collected every 14 days and the blue bin every 28 days.
