A great evening and a victory for Hraunsins
Vidistaðaskóli knew the answers and won the 'Do You Know the Answer?' quiz competition for the middle schools' youth clubs.
The quiz competition has been running for the past few weeks. Eight teams took part, and four of them reached the semi-finals. The youth clubs of Víðistaðaskóli and Áslandsskóli won a place in the final, and the final was held in a packed Bæjarbíó last night.
Hraunið, the youth club of Víðistaðaskóli, competed against Ásinn from Áslandsskóli and won with 30 points to 18.

The author and interviewer Árni Stefán Guðjónsson asks the final question.
Hraunið kept the travelling cup
Nína Svavarsdóttir, Ragnar Halldór Bogason and Úlfar Kristmundsson were on the winning team for Hraunið. They celebrated heartily at the end of the match, lifting the cup amidst great jubilation from their supporters. Their coaches were Birkir Már Viðarsson and Kristmundur Guðmundsson.
Freyja Bjarnveig Ívarsdóttir, Regin Kamban Gunnarsson and Haraldur Hrafn Þórðarson made up Team Ás and came second out of all the youth clubs in Hafnarfjörður. Their coaches were Óskar Karl Ómarsson and Þorsteinn Ómar Ágústsson. The two of them competed in 'Veistu svarið' in 2022 and won that year. They have since competed for the Flensborg team in 'Gettu betur'.
The author and quizmaster was Árni Stefán Guðjónsson, who also ran the competition. The competition consisted of 90 seconds of rapid-fire questions, clue questions, bell questions, audio clips and a triathlon.
The Víðistaðaskóli team kept the travelling trophy, but they also knew the answer for 2023. The contestants received a book prize, a pizza party and a rose.
All the young people did brilliantly. Really well done. Congratulations to Víðistaðaskóli on the victory. Congratulations to Áslandsskóli on the 2nd place. You rock.
