Visitor arrivals in Seltún counted by an automatic counter

The Tourist Board has installed a live counter in Seltún to monitor the number of visitors to this popular tourist destination. The figures are published on the tourism dashboard, a website where statistical information about the industry is presented in a graphical format. The number of tourists can be viewed by hour of the day, day, month and year as time goes on, but the count in Seltún began in October 2020.

Automatic counters at popular and selected locations

Í on the dashboard Information can also be obtained from automatic counters located at Geysir, Gullfoss, Dimmuborgir, Goðafoss, Hvítserkur, Dynjandi, Súgandisey, Saxhóll, Hraunfossar, Grábrók and Seltún, with the latter six locations having been added this October. The number of visitors to each destination can be viewed for each individual day. The dashboard also shows the number of tourists, accommodation supply, hotel room occupancy, distribution, utilisation and revenue from Airbnb accommodation, cruise ship arrivals and distribution, the number of employees in the industry, foreign exchange earnings and the number of hire cars. These figures can be viewed in more detail by year, region, municipality, industry, nationality, etc.
