A fun summer awaits children in Hafnarfjörður in leisure workshops. Numerous workshops are available for children in Years 4 to 7. Adventure, science experiments, exercise and creativity. The workshops are run by Tómstund. The aim is to keep our children active during the summer holidays, give them the opportunity to meet other children, discover interesting activities and rekindle old hobbies. They meet at Lækjaskóli and Áslandsskóli.
First week – Adventure
- June: Scavenger hunt and bingo
- June: Character and story creation, and map-making.
- June: Weapons Making and Escape Room
- June: Werewolf and angling competition
- June: Sparinesti, adventure film and Viking festival
Week Two – Science Experiments
- June: Tie-dye and outdoor games
- June: ice cream, slime and ink
- June: Volcanic eruption
- June: Trial Quiz
Week Three – Movement
- June: Pogo competition and Tarzan game
- June: Walk and Lego competition
- June: cycling trip and basketball
- June: Shooting, Brennball and Bandy
Fourth week – Creation
- July: Clay and fashion design.
- July: Painting and fashion design
- July: Jewellery making and painting a mug
- July: Clipart and karaoke
- July: Fashion show
The leisure programme is divided into four sessions, each lasting one week. Children choose the workshops they wish to attend for that week. There is no age separation, and all registered children can attend both before and after lunch. The week costs 2,968 kr.
