We are the village: A series of meetings on the well-being and safety of young people

The series of meetings We are the village It starts on 8 October at the Bæjarbíó. It aims to respond to the situation in society and make recommendations for measures concerning the well-being and safety of young people.

Safety and well-being, yes, we are the village.

Hafnarfjörður encourages young people and everyone interested in their community, well-being and a safe environment to attend the 'We are the Village' series of meetings.

Two meetings are already on the agenda. The first is entitled „The future is bright if we all want it.“ This is an open meeting with and for young people, their families and all interested parties, held at the Bæjarbíó on Tuesday, 8th October at 17:30.

Eva Mattadóttir will lead the session, conversation and discussions. The focus is on enabling guests to express their ideas and opinions in an efficient and interactive way. The aim is to gather ideas and proposals for actions concerning the safety and well-being of children and young people in their „village“.

Mayor Rósa Guðbjartsdóttir opens the meeting. On the panel are representatives from the youth, the police and the local council, and the discussion begins with strong messages from each of them to the guests in the room.

Advice on the behaviour and well-being of our young people

The other meeting is entitled Behaviour and well-being of young peoples It will take place on 15th October at 9 p.m. It is intended as an educational evening for parents, guardians and all interested parties, with professionals and psychologists from the City of Hafnarfjörður, about the behaviour and well-being of our young people.

The aim is for participants to leave with practical advice and helpful feedback for their parenting.

These evenings are designed to have an impact on our society, both how it is and how it develops. We therefore encourage everyone to take part, to attend and to make their mark.
