Queer meet-ups at Öldan this winter

The first meeting for HHH will be on Thursday, 23rd October from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the youth centre Öldan, Öldutúnsskóli. HHH will be held every Thursday evening this winter.

Berglind Rún Torfadóttir, head of HHH, says the programme is varied this winter. At the first get-togethers, the plans for the winter will be laid out. „There will be games nights, all sorts of pool tournaments and we'll definitely go on a trip to the ice together. The main purpose of the activities is to build camaraderie, meet people and just be ourselves. We encourage everyone to come along and we're very welcoming to all.“

HHH for 8th-10th grade

HHH is now moving from Setbergsskóli to Öldutúnsskóli. The meet-up is for young people in years 8-10 who identify as queer, are on the spectrum in some way, are into queer concepts and/or are interested in queer issues. The aim of the group is for young people to feel safe, welcome, and to have the opportunity to flourish.

„It's important that the young people who attend HHH stick together. We are very keen for the work of queer youth to be strong here in Hafnarfjörður. It's so important that we have each other as a friend,“ says Berglind, who is now taking on the role for the first time.

Active on social media

„I'm really looking forward to the winter and am very excited to get to know everyone,“ says Berglind, „and the training on offer. First and foremost, we're about strengthening our ranks; not standing alone, but together here in Hafnarfjörður.“

HHH is active on Instagram. „You can always send us posts and enquiries there,“ says Berglind.

Yes, let's get involved and strengthen the work together.
