Umhyggja works for the benefit of seriously ill children
Umhyggja is an organisation that works to improve the welfare of seriously ill children and their families. Umhyggja offers free psychological services and legal advice for parents, subsidised courses for siblings, financial grants, holiday homes, assistance with the fight for rights, as well as counselling for families and children. Umhyggju-Day is held with the aim of raising awareness of the association and the work it does for seriously ill children and their families. The association has been carrying out important work for this group for 43 years, having been founded in 1980. Umhyggja now comprises 16 clubs and organisations, all of which can make use of its services.
