The Healthy Town of Hafnarfjörður, in collaboration with Hugmyndabankinn, invites children and their families to try a fun game in their local area during the winter holidays. A game based on imagination and active participation from everyone. Margrét Ýr Ingimarsdóttir, a mother of two and a Year 2 teacher at Hvaleyrarskóli, is the owner and creator behind Hugmyndabankinn. The Idea Bank gives parents and anyone interested fun ideas for quality time together and an insight into how children can be taught through creative play. Play and learning in one and the same place.
Togetherness is key.
The aim of the Idea Bank is to bring joy and make it easier for parents to access all sorts of ideas that are easy to carry out at home or in the local area. The materials often depend on what you have at home at the time. A treasure hunt is a great example of a fun way to get some fresh air, explore your local area, enjoy each other's company and have fun together. All you need is a cereal box, some paints and a dash of imagination: What would you like to notice in your local environment? Another great example from the Idea Bank is a Monster-Spectacles for young and old to look for exciting things in their local area. All you need is a roll of kitchen paper, imagination and colours.
The Wellness Town of Hafnarfjörður encourages the whole family; grandparents, parents, young people, children, aunts and uncles, to explore the exciting ideas the bank has to offer. Ideas for fun activities during the winter holidays, and a great way to create memories in the memory bank.
