There will be half-term holidays in primary schools and the Hafnarfjörður Music School on Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st October.

Swimming is free during the primary school winter holiday, and the museums are offering an exciting programme for primary school children and their families. Hafnarborg invites primary school children in Hafnarfjörður to come and take part in creative art workshops run by the museum. The workshops are open to all children and their families who want to let their creativity flow and enjoy working with a variety of materials. You are welcome to take part on one or both days.

  • Halloween Tote Bag Workshop Monday, 20 October, 1 pm - 3 pm
    In this creative workshop, participants will have the opportunity to play with colours and design their own tote bag. The bag can be decorated, drawn on or painted according to your own ideas, and can then be used on Halloween – when going trick-or-treating or playing a trick – or for other autumn activities.
  • The Multilingual Forest School (Forestry School) / Tuesday, 21 October, 1 pm - 3 pm
    Artists Fernanda Fajardo and Anne Rombach are leading an art workshop for families in Icelandic, Portuguese, Spanish, English and German. Participants will draw inspiration from the forest and create creatures from leaves, branches and other natural materials in the spirit of autumn. The workshop is held in connection with the museum's 'In My Language' programme.

The Hafnarborg workshops take place in the Pharmacy on the first floor of the museum, but children are advised to be accompanied by an adult.
