On Monday, 25th May, eight Year 9 pupils from all the schools set off for the Nordic Twin Towns Association's twinning event in Frederiksberg, Denmark. There, the young people took part in a varied programme with their peers from the sister cities, where their talents were woven into musical and theatrical performances which they presented to delegations from the sister cities who arrived in Frederiksberg on Thursday, 28th May.
The young people then took part in a GPS-guided scavenger hunt around the neighbourhood, received a presentation from the Frederiksberg Youth Council and visited the zoo in the heart of Frederiksberg.
The Municipality of Hafnarfjörður has been part of the twinning association since 1951, alongside Frederiksberg, Uppsala in Sweden, Bærum in Norway, Hämeenlinna in Finland and Tartu in Estonia. The twinning meeting is held every two years and the twin towns take it in turns to host the event, and in 2017 it is Hafnarfjörður's turn.
The picture was taken in front of Frederiksberg Castle on the birthday of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik André Henrik Christian, Prince of Denmark and Count of Monpezat.
