Yellow coloured institutions and workplaces today
The colour yellow was widely seen at the facilities of the City of Hafnarfjörður today. „We went all out,“ says Margrét Sverrisdóttir, head teacher of Öldutúnsskóli. She, just like the staff and many pupils, was wearing a yellow T-shirt for Yellow September. The colour adorned the town in many places throughout the day.

She, just like the staff and many pupils, was wearing a yellow T-shirt for Yellow September. A yellow cake, yellow tablecloths, a yellow drink and yellow cupcakes delighted the staff.
Yellow awareness campaign
In Yellow September, the emphasis is on raising public awareness of the importance of mental wellbeing and suicide prevention, guided by love, care and compassion. This time of year has been chosen because the World Suicide Prevention Day is today, 10 September, and World Mental Health Day is on 10 October. Yellow is the colour of suicide prevention.
