A bustling atmosphere characterises harbour areas around the world. A diverse range of businesses and various services attract people at all times of day, all year round. The Port of Flensburg has a long history, but preparatory work is now underway for a new development plan for the area around the marina, which is designated as a mixed port, retail and service area.

Sverrisal will house maps, plans, photographs and drawings relating to the area. Visitors will be able to familiarise themselves with the history of the site, reports and other visual material used in the planning process. On a large map, visitors are encouraged to contribute to the discussion.

An open workshop and ideas pool are being offered on the future of the area. This is an interesting project for anyone interested in planning and community life, and residents of Hafnarfjörður are particularly encouraged to familiarise themselves with the work, take part, and contribute their ideas.

In connection with the workshop, walking tours, presentations and open meetings will be held.

The project is overseen by Magnea Guðmundsdóttir, an architect, who has been working on the planning of Flensborg Harbour for the Planning and Building Department of Hafnarfjörður Municipality.
