Hafnarborg has received a 750,000 króna grant from the Design Fund for the project. Runa, font. It is about the redesign and exhibition of the typeface of Sigrún Guðjónsdóttir (b. 1926).
The aim of the project is to make the artist's typography accessible in a digital format and present it to the public at Hafnarborg in connection with Design March 2026.
The project thus underlines the importance of preservation and innovation in the field of Icelandic typography, and is one of 28 diverse projects in design and architecture to receive grants from the fund on this occasion.
