Creative summer jobs – artistic and creative events

This summer, individuals and groups aged 18-20 have the opportunity to come up with ideas for creative projects in Hafnarfjörður. Selected groups will have the opportunity to work over the summer on projects to liven up the town centre and delight tourists and residents with all sorts of initiatives. Applicants must have been born between 1997 and 1999 and be registered residents of Hafnarfjörður. The application deadline is 18 May.

Key responsibilities and duties

The staff of the creative summer jobs, run as part of the Hafnarfjörður Summer School, are tasked with bringing the town to life, making it more fun, beautiful and diverse with artistic and creative events. The projects need to be varied and appeal to different age groups and interests. In addition electronic application A report must be submitted for the creative summer job, providing the following information:

• A detailed description of the project, its scope and objectives.
• Time and Work Schedule
• Budget
• Information about all project stakeholders and one designated project contact.

Competency requirements

When selecting projects, consideration will be given to, among other things, the project's feasibility and originality, the budget, the diversity of projects, the gender balance of applicants and the quality of the applications. An agreement on the project's arrangements will be made with the applicants who are selected. It is anticipated that 1-2 groups or up to 10 individuals will be given the opportunity to participate in the project this year. The Chair of the Sports and Leisure Committee and the heads of the Work Experience Programme will serve on the selection panel. The selection panel will submit its decision by 1 June.
