Í þessari sýningu rannsakar Sólveig Aðalbjört innri sjónheim og skynjun, með áherslu á fosfena — ljós- og formupplifanir sem verða til í sjónkerfinu án ytri áreitis. Verkin leitast við að fanga augnablikið þegar heilinn mótar mynd úr ljósi, áður en hún festist í skýru formi.

Málverkin, að mestu hringlaga og byggð upp í gegnsæjum lögum, mynda skynræn rými þar sem innri og ytri heimar mætast. Formin vísa bæði í lífræn mynstur náttúrunnar og frumstæð tákn, með tengingum við hellamálverk og sjónræna arfleifð mannsins. Endurtekning og flæði kalla fram tengsl við tónlist, sem listamaðurinn hefur sjálf samið í tengslum við sýninguna.
Sum verkin eru hreyfanleg og umbreytast í sífelldu flæði. Þar verður skynjunin að virku ferli; áhorfandinn er þátttakandi í því hvernig myndin verður til.

Sólveig Aðalbjört Guðmundsdóttir (f. 2000) er myndlistarkona með bakgrunn í klassískri tónlist. Hún lauk diplómanámi í sellóleik frá Listaháskóla Íslands árið 2021 og útskrifaðist af myndlistarbraut Fjölbrautaskólans í Garðabæ árið 2022. Hún stundar nám við Listmálaradeild Myndlistaskólans í Reykjavík og útskrifast vorið 2026. Hún hefur tekið þátt í fjölda samsýninga á síðustu árum.

In this exhibition, Sólveig Aðalbjört explores inner vision and perception, with a focus on phosphenes — light and form experiences generated within the visual system without external stimuli. The works seek to capture the moment when the brain forms an image out of light, before it settles into a fixed shape.

The paintings, largely circular and built up in translucent layers, create sensory spaces where inner and outer worlds meet. The forms reference both organic patterns found in nature and primordial symbols, with connections to cave paintings and the visual heritage of humankind. Repetition and flow evoke links to music, which the artist has composed specifically in relation to the exhibition.
Some works take on a kinetic form, transforming through continuous motion. Perception becomes an active process; the viewer is not only an observer, but a participant in the formation of the image.

Sólveig Aðalbjört Guðmundsdóttir (b. 2000) is an artist with a background in classical music. She completed a diploma in cello performance at the Iceland University of the Arts in 2021 and graduated from the visual arts program at Fjölbrautaskólinn í Garðabæ in 2022. She is currently studying at the Painting Department of the Reykjavík School of Visual Arts and will graduate in the spring of 2026. She has participated in a number of group exhibitions in recent years.
