A varied programme during the winter holiday

There will be a half-term holiday in Hafnarfjörður's primary schools on Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th February, and on that occasion there is Free swimming for children and adults on those days at Ásvallalaug, Suðurbæjarlaug and Sundhöll Hafnarfjarðar.

Port city The museum invites children of primary school age on their winter holiday to come and take part in fun and creative art workshops. The first workshop will take place on Friday, 23 February from 13:00 to 15:00, and the second on Monday, 26 February from 13:00 to 15:00. Children can be accompanied by a parent or guardian. As always, admission to the workshops and the museum itself is free of charge. The art workshop will take place in Apótekinu, a room on the first floor of the museum, and will be led by Irene Hrafnan.

We extend a special welcome to primary school children in Hafnarfjörður. Hafnarfjörður Library During the winter holidays. In the children's section, you can craft, play games and colour in all day, but there will also be story time, film screenings and crafts with set times. 

On Hafnarfjörður Museum of Local History You will be able to take part in a fun and educational family treasure hunt that guides visitors around the museum.

  We explore forms and colours, light and shadow, and consider transparent forms and their possibilities. 

Saturday, 24 February

• 11am-5pm Scavenger Hunt around the Folk Museum
  A fun and educational treasure hunt for the family that guides visitors around the museum.
• 1 pm Story Time at Hafnarfjörður Library
  A story suitable for children aged 4-8 will be read.

Sunday, 25 February

Monday 26 February

• 6:30 - 21:00 Free swimming at Ásvallalaug, Suðurbæjarlaug and Sundhöll
• 11 a.m. Library Cinema at Hafnarfjörður Library
  The film Nine Lives will be shown in the library's multipurpose hall.
• 13:00-15:00 ART WORKSHOP at Hafnarborg – Architecture Laboratory
  We examine houses and their forms, and play with subverting preconceived ideas. 
• 14:00-16:00 SLIME at Hafnarfjörður Library. We're taking part in the Slime Craze and setting up a slime workshop. All materials provided.

Tuesday – 27 February
