Proposal for a major and detailed planning amendment at 40-44 Suðurgata
At a meeting of the Hafnarfjörður Town Council on 30 August 2017, it was resolved to advertise a proposal for a change of land use in the Hafnarfjörður Master Plan, in accordance with section 1 of Article 36 of the Planning Act No. 123/2010. Furthermore, the town council approved a proposal for an amended detailed plan for 40-44 Suðurgata and to advertise it in accordance with section 1 of article 43 of the Planning Act No. 123/2010.
The proposals will be advertised in parallel, as permitted by section 2 of Article 41 of the Planning Act 123/2010.

The proposals will be advertised in parallel, as permitted by section 2 of Article 41 of the Planning Act 123/2010.
The amendment to the Master Plan for Hafnarfjörður for the aforementioned plots consists of changing the land use designation for the plots at Suðurgata 40-44 from community services to residential development.The amendment to the detailed plan consists of the following: the plot at 40 Suðurgata will be redefined as a residential plot instead of a car park. The building at 44 Suðurgata will be given a new function, along with a sports and fitness centre that is to be relocated in accordance with the current plan. It will be changed into a residential building with a maximum of 12 flats. Parking will be provided on-site. A new plot will be created within the South Street 44 plot, which will be numbered 46.
The proposals, together with the supporting documents, will be on display at the Hafnarfjörður Service Centre, Strandgata 6, and at the Environmental and Planning Service, Norðurhellu 2, from 16 March 2018 to 27 April 2018.

Those who consider themselves to have an interest are given the opportunity to make comments on the amendment, which must be submitted in writing to the Environmental and Planning Services of Hafnarfjörður Municipality no later than 27 April 2018. Those who do not submit comments on the amendment within the specified deadline will be deemed to have consented to it.
