The best decorated houses in Hafnarfjörður
On St. Lucia's Day, awards were presented for the best-decorated house, the best-decorated street and the best-decorated block of flats in Hafnarfjörður. At the beginning of December, residents of Hafnarfjörður and other interested parties were encouraged to put on their big Christmas glasses and submit a nomination for the house in Hafnarfjörður that they think stands out in this year's Christmas decorations.
On St. Lucia's Day, prizes were awarded for the best-decorated houses, the best-decorated street and the best-decorated block of flats in Hafnarfjörður. At the beginning of December, residents of Hafnarfjörður and other interested parties were encouraged to put on their big Christmas glasses and send in a tip about the house in Hafnarfjörður that they think stands out in this year's Christmas decorations.
Residents at Hnoðravellir 7 won first prize and a gift voucher from HS Veitur for the best-decorated house. Certificates were also awarded for 2nd and 3rd place, which went to Hellisgata 34 and Þrastarás 11. Furuvellir 13-25 was chosen as the best-decorated street, and a plaque has already been erected on the street in recognition of this. Herjólfsgata 32-34 received an award for the best-decorated block of flats.
The presentation of awards and recognition took place in the Christmas Village on St. Lucia's Day, and the selection was made by the Culture and Tourism Committee of the City of Hafnarfjörður.
