Children and the Environment course in Hafnarfjörður
Children and the Environment at the Red Cross in Hafnarfjörður and Garðabær will be held on 22, 23, 29 and 30 January 2019. Subject to sufficient participation. The course is intended for young people born in 2007 or earlier (aged 12 and over).

The 'Children and the Environment' course with the Red Cross in Hafnarfjörður and Garðabær will be held on 22, 23, 29 and 30 January 2019. Subject to sufficient participation. The course is intended for young people born in 2007 or earlier (aged 12 and over). Teaching will take place at the Red Cross premises in Hafnarfjörður and Garðabær at Strandgata 24, and will be spread over four (4) evenings:
- Tuesday, 22 January, 17:30-20:00 – Topic: The Red Cross, child development, communication
- Wednesday, 23rd January, 17:00-20:00 - Subject: Games, toys, care
- Tuesday, 29 January, 17:30-20:00 – Topic: Accident Prevention
- Wednesday 30 January, 17:00–20:00 – Subject: First Aid
The course covers various aspects of interaction and conduct with children. It discusses effective communication, discipline, care and healthy lifestyles, games and toys. Emphasis is placed on accident prevention and common hazards in the environment, along with first aid instruction. In addition, participants gain an insight into the history and work of the Red Cross.
The course fee is kr. 9,900, and all course materials are included. Please note: bring a healthy and tasty snack for the break. The course leaders are nursery school teachers and nurses. Participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the course.
