The 2019 property tax bills are now available on my pages on www.hafnarfjordur.is. The bills show the amounts of property tax, land lease, water, sewerage and refuse collection charges. They also show the property valuation and information about the owners and payers of the charges.
The due dates for property taxes in Hafnarfjörður for 2019 are ten in total. The first is on 1 February, and the others are on the first of each month until 1 November. In cases where the annual property tax is kr. 25,000 or less, the full amount is collected on the first payment due date of the year, 1 February. The final date for payment is 30 days after the due date.
At the start of the year, pensioners on old-age and disability pensions have been granted a reduction or exemption from property tax, in accordance with the rules on income thresholds based on the 2018 tax return. The condition for a reduction or exemption is that it applies to the taxpayer's own home, where they have their legal residence. Discount

According to the 2019 tax return, this is on file with the Tax Commissioner.
Hafnarfjörður's Tariff Schedule
Property tax payments can be made via online banking, and payment and billing statements are not sent in paper format, except to taxpayers over the age of 68 and to legal entities. You can request to have a paper bill sent to you, and likewise, those who receive one can request to have this stopped.
