The Culture and Tourism Committee of Hafnarfjörður is inviting applications for grants for projects, events and partnership agreements in the field of culture and the arts in Hafnarfjörður. Applications must be submitted online by 10 September 2019.
Twice a year, the Culture and Tourism Committee of Hafnarfjörður invites applications for grants for cultural activities and the promotion of cultural life in Hafnarfjörður. The aim is to support cultural activities in accordance with the city's cultural policy and to support individuals and organisations in artistic and cultural creation. Artists, organisations, institutions or cultural events must be connected to Hafnarfjörður in some way. This can be through permanent residency, by the event taking place in Hafnarfjörður, or by featuring the cultural activities of the city. Funding is not provided for travel, study, or general running costs. The application must state the following:
- Objectives, description and justification of the application
- Grant amount
- Time and Work Schedule
- Further funding
- Cost estimate
The Culture and Tourism Committee assesses applications based on the objectives of the projects and how they will be used to promote a diverse cultural life for the benefit of the town's residents and artists from Hafnarfjörður. Consideration is given to the feasibility of the projects, the cost estimate, as well as the timescale and work plan. A partnership agreement can be applied for in respect of longer-term or recurring projects for a period of up to three years.

Applicants should bear the following in mind when preparing their application:
- What project is the grant being applied for? The project name should be both short and descriptive of the project.
- Who is/are applying for the grant and who is/are going to carry out the project for which the grant is applied?.
- Where the project takes place.
- How to carry out the project – brief work description/work plan
- How much does it cost – a cost estimate is part of the application
- For whom – to state for whom the project is being carried out, who its target audience is.
- Why – to make clear what the benefits of the project are for the participants and for the community.
- Applicants are advised to review previous allocations and make realistic plans.

The Culture and Tourism Committee of Hafnarfjörður advertises open grants for projects, events and cooperation agreements in the field of culture and the arts in Hafnarfjörður.
The aim is to promote cultural activities and support individuals and organisations in accordance with the town's cultural policy.
The artists, organisations and/or events need to have a connection to the town in one way or another. For example, as a resident, by holding the event in Hafnarfjörður or by promoting cultural activities in the town.
Co-operation agreements and events can last up to three years. Please note the grant does not cover the following: operating costs, travel costs and educational costs.
Applications need to include the following:
- Goal of the project, description and reason for application
- Amount applied for
- Project schedule
- Other means of funding, if applicable

The aim is to support cultural activities in accordance with the city's policy and to strengthen units and organisations in the field of artistic and cultural creativity. Artists, organisations, institutions and cultural events must be connected in some way to the city of Hafnarfjörður. For example: having permanent residency in Hafnarfjörður, events taking place in Hafnarfjörður, or presenting the city's cultural activities. It is possible to apply for a contract of up to three years for longer-term or recurring projects. Travel, courses, and organisational running costs will not be funded.
The application should contain the following information:

- Grant amount
- Project plan and schedule
- Other costs
- Cost plan
