Athletics Field at Hörðuvellir
At the Education Committee meeting on 10 May, it was proposed that the fitness park, previously planned for Ásvallalaug, be moved to Hörðuvellir, as that location is more central and provides better access to the park.
At the meeting of the Environment and Operations Committee on 27 February 2019, it was approved to present a proposal for a fitness trail and a public play area for younger children at Ásvallalaug. Comments were received, and it was pointed out, among other things, that a fitness trail would be on the new school grounds of Skarðshlíðarskóli.
Course moved to Hörðuvöllur
At the Education Committee meeting on 10 May, it was proposed that the pitch be moved to Hörðuvellir, as that location is central and provides good access to the pitch.
At the meeting of the Environment and Operations Committee on 22 May, a reassessment of the previous location was requested, and the matter was finally taken up at the Planning and Building Committee on 2 July, where it was agreed to locate the pitch at Hörðuvellir. At the meeting of the Environment and Operations Committee on 14 August, the Environment and Planning Service was tasked with finalising the location and presenting it to neighbours.

The proposal is being presented to the owners of houses at 15-29 Tjarnarbraut, along with Lækjarskóli, the nursery school at Hörðuvellir, and Lækur at Hörðuvellir 1. The proposal will also be published on the City of Hafnarfjörður's website and social media channels.
