Closure of the slip road to Strandgata
Work on the dualling of the Reykjanesbraut continues. In the coming days, the contractor will install signage on the Strandgata bridge, shift traffic to the north side and close the slip road to Strandgata. A diversion will be in place via the Krýsuvíkurgatnamót/Krýsuvíkurveg.
Work on the dualling of the Reykjanesbraut continues. In the coming days, the contractor will install signage on the Strandgata bridge, shift traffic to the north side, and close the slip road to Strandgata. A diversion will be via the Krýsuvíkurgatnamót/Krýsuvíkurveg.
This is due to planned works/excavations east of the Strandgata Bridge, where the Reykjanesbraut will need to be temporarily narrowed to accommodate a retaining wall. The exact timing of the closure is not yet available, but it is estimated that it will take around 2-3 weeks to complete the work in this area so that the slip road to Strandgata can be reopened.
