Reduction or abolition of property tax for pensioners on old-age and disability pensions
At the start of the year, pensioners on old-age and disability pensions have been granted a reduction or exemption from property tax, in accordance with rules on income thresholds based on the previous year's tax return, now for 2019. The condition for the reduction or cancellation is that it applies to the payer's own home, where they have their legal residence. The property tax relief is recalculated once the 2020 tax return is confirmed by the Director of Taxation.
