This work explores the slippery boundaries between perception and consciousness, between what we passively take in and what we consciously acknowledge. The core of this exhibition is the tension between listening and hearing, seeing and observing. The works explore how we define ourselves by what we choose to pay attention to, and what gets lost on the periphery of our perception.

The works in this exhibition embrace abstraction as both a visual and aural method to disrupt immediate recognition. Through layered textures, shifting forms, and ephemeral soundscapes, the works invite viewers to slow down and question their first impressions. The interplay of perception, sounds without clear sources, and images without familiar anchors encourages a deeper engagement that mirrors the process of observing or listening deeply.

Two-dimensional works and sound installations are presented to the viewer as objectivity, but are created by running lines of code in software. Traditional computer programming languages are used to create visual content, and sound works fill the gallery with pieces that are often not aesthetically connected to the medium they are created with.

This body of work explores the slippery boundary between perception and awareness, between what we passively take in and what we consciously acknowledge. At the heart of this exhibition is the tension between listening and hearing, seeing and observing. The works explore how we define ourselves by what we choose to pay attention to, and what gets lost in the margins of our perception.

The works in this exhibition embrace abstraction as both a visual and auditory strategy to disrupt immediate recognition. Through layered textures, shifting forms, and ephemeral soundscapes, the works invite viewers to slow down and question their initial impressions. The interplay between sensory triggers, sounds without clear sources, and images without familiar anchors encourages a deeper engagement that mirrors the process of truly observing or deeply listening.

2D works and sound installations are presented to the viewer as abstraction, while being created by executing lines of code in software. Traditional computer coding languages are used to create visuals, and generative sound works fill the gallery with work that is aesthetically not often associated with the medium with which they are created.
