Sound // Markús Bjarnason / Studio Suð
The exhibition is about sound in its various manifestations; sound that emerges and sound that disappears. There, sound-dampening paintings meet…
The exhibition explores sound in its various manifestations; sound that emerges and sound that vanishes. It brings together sound-dampening paintings and works that emit sound. The common thread is invisible activity: that something is happening in the space, even if it cannot be seen.
The centrepiece of the exhibition is a new work that combines visual art, acoustics and sound. The work is primarily a painting, but also contains sound-dampening material and invisible speakers.
My name is Markús Bjarnason and I work at the boundaries of design and visual art. All my works are handmade from scratch with the aim of affecting the space, both visually and sonically.
