• 0711174 – Straumsvík, heavy metals and sulphur in mosses around the aluminium smelter 2005.

  Previously on the agenda at meeting 113 on 28th November, but the matter was deferred then.

  Nefndin telur að niðurstöður skýrslunnar gefi tilefni til að við úthlutun lóða undir iðnaðarstarfsemi sé vandlega hugað að mengunarmálum komandi starfsemi og samlegðaráhrifum við mengun frá þeirri starfsemi sem þegar er til staðar. Hafnarfjarðarbær þarf að vera meðvitaður um möguleg samlegðaráhrif og skoða mengunarmál og samlegðaráhrif heildstætt en ekki hverja starfsemi og mengun frá henni, fyrir sig. Við frekari uppbyggingu á iðnaðarsvæðum þarf að velja saman starfsemi þannig að mengunarálag verði ekki óhóflegt í stökum mengunarþáttum. %0DNefndin telur æskilegt að rannsóknir á mengun verði efldar, fleiri mengunarþættir mældir og sýnatökustöðum fljölgað.%0D

• 0710169 – Óla Run Tún - design competition.

  Taken up again. The matter was previously on the agenda at meetings 109 (17th October) and 110 (24th October). Drafts of the competition brief by Berglind Guðmundsdóttir, landscape architect at the Department of Planning and Building, were presented.

  The committee requests that work on the draft continues in accordance with the discussions at the meeting, and that it be referred to the Planning and Building Committee for consideration.

• 0711205 – The Lighthouse, a walking route at Hverfisgata

  A proposal for a pedestrian route to the Lighthouse on Hverfisgata was presented. The Executive Committee referred the matter to UHN/Sd 21 for comment at its meeting on 3 December 2007.

  The committee expresses its satisfaction that access to the lighthouse, which can be considered a cultural and historical monument in the town, is to be improved, and supports the proposed measure. According to the description, the measure will be reversible, and it is welcome that such a consideration is being made in the council's works.

• 0706352 – Restoration of birdlife

  Presentation by Guðrún Kristín Magnúsdóttir on measures for the restoration of birdlife. The committee provided an opinion, at the request of the town council, on a similar presentation at its meeting on 5 September 2007.

  The Environment Committee/Local Agenda 21 instructs the Local Agenda 21 Project Manager to draft the committee's response in accordance with the discussions at the meeting.
