  Gerður Guðjónsdóttir, Finance Director, and Arinbjörn Sigurgeirsson, Quality Manager, attended the meeting and presented the changes to the 2007 budget.

  The Hafnarfjörður Town Council resolves to refer the current proposed amendments to the 2007 budget to the Town Council, in accordance with the authority in Article 62 of the Municipal Act No. 45/1998.

• 0701193 – Salary Survey of Hafnarfjörður Municipality 2007.

  The meeting was attended by Anna Jörgensdóttir, Head of Personnel, and representatives from ParX Business Consulting, who presented the results of a salary survey and a comparison of men's and women's salaries at Hafnarfjörður Municipality, which was carried out in June.

  A purchase offer dated 28.8.2007 has been submitted.

• 0704203 – 100th anniversary of the town of Hafnarfjörður, programme committee.

  Steinunn Þorsteinsdóttir presented the anniversary committee's proposals for a commemorative badge for the celebrations next year.

  The Town Council endorses the opinion of the Environment Committee/Agenda 21 and rejects the request.

• 0701095 – Commercial and industrial plots.

  A proposal to advertise the allocation of plots in Hellnahrauni 3 and Kapelluhrauni was considered.

  The Town Council agrees to instruct the Mayor and the Planning and Building Officer to prepare a notice for plots of land in the aforementioned areas.

  The subject of the proposed motion falls primarily under the remit of the Education Committee, as the motion was originally tabled last Monday. The Committee then agreed to defer its consideration until the next meeting. The Town Council therefore considers it appropriate that the proposal should receive further substantive discussion and be dealt with by the Education Committee at its next meeting.

• 0706304 – Church Square, plots for service and security housing

  The matter of the letter from Fjarðarmót ehf of 15th June regarding plots for service and security flats is taken up again, and the town council requested a report from the joint working group.   Consideration of an undated application from Viðar Guðbjörnsson for an extension to the plot at Hraunbrún 26, which the Planning and Building Committee referred to the Town Council at its meeting on 28 August 2007.

  It has been established that the plot holder of the Álhella 5 plot, Járn og Blikk ehf, has failed to comply with the allocation terms, and the deadline for objections expired on 28 August.

  The Hafnarfjörður Town Council resolves to revoke the allocation of the plot Álfhella 5 to Járns og Blikk ehf.

  A proposal from the Society of Enthusiasts for Peace, Education and Human Rights, received on 7 September 2007, is presented, requesting a grant of kr. 150,000 to hold an educational exhibition on sustainable development in the Old Library.

  The Town Council agrees to grant the requested grant, subject to its available funds for grant-making.
