  A table is presented showing the number of pupils and classes in the primary schools of Hafnarfjörður at the start of the school year.

  The number of pupils in the primary schools of Hafnarfjörður at the start of the school year is 3,760, an increase of 82 from the previous year. The fewest are at Engidalsskóli with 264, while the most are at Setbergsskóli with 588.

  A letter dated 22 August 2007 from the editorial board of 'The Linguist' was presented, requesting that the education committee support the publication of the magazine by purchasing a copy for all the town's nursery and primary schools.

  The Education Council welcomes the presentation.

• 0708156 – 100th anniversary of the town of Hafnarfjörður in 2008 - participation of educational institutions

  On 1 June 2008, the town of Hafnarfjörður celebrates its 100th anniversary as a borough. The milestone will be commemorated in various ways throughout the anniversary year. A grand celebration will be held in the town centre on the anniversary, but the whole year will also be one long celebration with a host of events and happenings. The Education Committee is seeking the assistance of all institutions operating in the education sector and is asking the borough's schools to develop and submit ideas and proposals for how the schools can participate in commemorating this significant milestone.

  A memorandum from the Director of the Education Department, dated 23 August 2007, was presented on the status of maintenance projects at Smáralundur.

  The Education Committee endorses the director's memorandum. The Education Committee agrees that preparations should begin for the expansion of Smáralundur Nursery by one to two units and refers the matter to the Executive Committee.

  A summary of the number of vacancies as of 24 August was presented.

• 0708169 – Salary matters for nursery school teachers, TV unit

  Í fjárhagsáætlun Hafnarfjarðar var gert ráð fyrir fjármagni vegna ákvæða í kjarasamningi leikskólakennara um greiðslur vegna tímabundinnar vinnu (TV- einingar) %0D%0DÍ febrúar sl. voru samþykktar meðfylgjandi reglur um framkvæmd Hafnarfjarðarbæjar á þessu ákvæði um tímabundin viðbótarlaun. %0D%0DFyrstu umsóknir voru afgreiddar í apríl og nú eru umsóknir farnar að berast að nýju.%0D%0D

  Fræðsluráð leggur fram eftirfarandi tillögu:%0D%0DÍ Hafnarfirði hafa heimildir til greiðslu vegna TV eininga eingöngu verið nýttar vegna verkefna og hæfni. Í ljósi markaðs- og samkeppnisaðstæðna samþykkir fræðsluráð að beina því til fræðslusviðs í samvinnu við starfsmannastjóra að móta reglur þar að lútandi. %0DÁ grundvelli slíkra reglna verði skólastjórnendum gert kleift að sækja um viðbótargreiðslur til þess að gera starfsfólki kleift að starfa undir því aukna álagi sem myndast vegna skorts á starfsfólki.%0D %0D%0D%0D%0D%0DAldís Yngvadóttir vék af fundi kl. 10:00%0D%0DSigurborg Kristjánsdóttir, þróunarfulltrúi leikskóla lagði fram mastersverkefni sitt „Svona gerum við“ innleiðing á PMT-verkfærum með starfendarannsókn í leikskóla. • 0708150 – Mímir Lifelong Learning

  A letter dated 17 August 2007 from the Mímir Language School regarding the price of Icelandic courses for foreigners was presented.

  The Education Committee instructs the Director of Education to draw up a draft agreement with Mími Lifelong Learning for Icelandic language teaching for foreigners.
