• 0704184 – Áslandsskóli, sports hall

  A memorandum regarding the sports hall at Áslandsskóli, together with supporting documents, was presented.

  The Education Committee endorses the ideas set out in the submitted memorandum, as this is in line with its policy that facilities for physical education should be available at all primary schools wherever possible.

• 0705306 – Newcomers in primary schools - reception process

  Information was presented on the induction process for new pupils in primary school.

  The Education Committee endorses the recommendation of the Advisory and Development Officer and directs the School Office to implement it in consultation with school leaders.

• 0702207 – The public health project "Everything has an impact, especially on ourselves"

  Draft of the working group on the project was presented to the education committee for comment.

  Suggestions should be submitted for the next meeting of the Education Committee.

• 0705160 – Hraunvallar School, increase in nursery classes

  A copy of a letter to the town mayor, dated 22 May 2007, from a meeting of teachers and staff of the primary school department of Hraunvallar School was presented.

  The Education Committee instructs the Chair and the Education Department to continue working on a resolution to the matter.

• 0705302 – Parent survey in nurseries

  The Education Committee directs nursery heads to work with the findings in collaboration with the nurseries' parents' associations.
