      A letter from the mayor of Cuxhaven was presented, announcing the gift of a Christmas tree to the City of Hafnarfjörður and conveying Christmas greetings.

      A letter from the board of the SEM Housing Association, dated 24 November, has been submitted, requesting a grant towards the payment of the 2009 property taxes.

      A proposal from the board of Reykjanes National Park, dated 20 November 2008, has been submitted, requesting the same contribution for the national park in 2009 as has been provided previously.

    • 0712029 – The Council of Elders of Hafnarfjörður

      The board of the Council of Elders met with the town council in accordance with the Council of Elders' regulations. The rules regarding property tax discounts for senior citizens and disabled people were reviewed.

      The town council thanks the congregation.

    • 0812010 – Imposition of council tax 2009

      A proposal for the levying of council taxes for the year 2009 was presented. The Finance Manager attended the meeting for this item.

      The Town Council refers the following proposal to the first reading in the Town Council: “The Town Council of Hafnarfjörður approves the proposal for the imposition of municipal charges for the year 2009.“
