• 0810159 – Handbook for facilitators of group work

  Erna Sóley Stefánsdóttir, director of Versið, attended the meeting and presented a new handbook for facilitators of group work which she has compiled.

• 0810163 – Hraunsins Skateboard Festival 2008

  There was great satisfaction with the skateboarding festival held at the Hraunið Youth Centre on 2nd October. Around 500 children and teenagers took part in the festival, and a large number of competitors were registered. Competitions were held in skateboarding, inline skating, BMX and rollerblading.

General presentations

• 0803182 – Summer job 2008

  The report of the Hafnarfjörður Summer School on its 2008 summer activities was presented for information.

  In light of the current situation in society, the Sports and Leisure Committee draws attention to the fact that a high level of demand can be expected for the 2009 summer programme. Additional funding must be allocated for this item when preparing the 2009 budget.

• 0810162 – Procedures regarding Article 10(3) of the Youth Act

  Procedures for obtaining information from the criminal records of staff in youth and sports activities, in accordance with the 3rd paragraph of Article 10 of the Youth Act No. 70/2007.

Applications

• 0810160 – FH Football Club, grant application

  A request from the FH Football Department dated 2nd October is considered, requesting a grant for the junior teams' end-of-season celebration.

  The Sports and Leisure Committee is unable to grant the request.

  The minutes of the working group on the development of Ásvellir, from 26 August and 3 September, were presented for information.

• 0702004 – Swimming Centre at Völlum, construction

  The minutes of the work meeting for Ásvallalaugar, held on 24th September, were presented for information.

  The minutes of the Sports Association of Hafnarfjörður from 1st September were presented for information.
