  A letter dated 1 October from the headteacher of Víðistaðaskóli was presented, requesting a grant for facilities for teenagers.

  The Education Committee welcomes the submission and refers it to the operational department for further processing.

  A proposal for the revision of the 2008 budget, which was presented to the town council on 30 September, was presented for information.

• 0809195 – Álfasteinn Nursery School, planning days

  Referring to the item in the minutes of the Education Committee meeting of 22 September. A professional assessment of the application from the School Office was presented, recommending that three consecutive planning days be authorised for the study trip.

  The Education Committee agrees that the nursery school will be authorised to hold three consecutive planning days in the spring term of 2009.

• 0810061 – The Kindergarten at Liljuvelli - name

  The chair proposes that at the next meeting of the Education Committee members bring suggestions for the name of the nursery school at Liljuvelli. Four to five names will be selected from the suggestions received and a poll will be held on the town's website about them.

  Referring to item 7 of the minutes of the Education Committee meeting of 22 September. The proposal was reconsidered.
