• 0908194 – Hellisgerði, café operation

  The agreement between the City of Hafnarfjörður and Sigríður Friðriksdóttir is presented for approval.

  Draft agreement with Sigríður's proposed amendments reviewed and examined. The cultural and tourism representative instructed to finalise the agreement in accordance with the committee's recommendations.;

• 09102905 – Volcano Park, project

  A letter from the board of Reykjanes National Park, dated. 12 October 2009, in which the board of Reykjanes National Park examines and seeks support for the "Volcano Park" project. The proposal was submitted to the Planning and Building Committee on 3 November and referred from there to the Environment Committee/Local Agenda 21.

  The committee welcomes the submission and requests to be involved at a later stage.;

• 0909221 – The Christmas Village 2009

  It has been proposed that the Christmas Village open on 4 December instead of 5 December. Work on the village and its finances has been reported.

  Ásbjörg Una Björnsdóttir attended the meeting and, together with the cultural and tourism representative, presented an update on the project's status.;

• 09103143 – Culture and Tourism, Work Programme 2010

  Submitted.

  Deferred to the next meeting.;

• 0911235 – The Folk Museum. Presentation of activities.

  Björn Pétursson attended the meeting and went over the main tasks and duties of the Regional Museum.

  The committee emphasises that the budget process should seek to ensure the continuation of the important and good work being carried out in the museum.;

• 0911234 – National costume day in Hafnarfjörður

  A proposal from Eyjólfur Eyjólfsson has been submitted, proposing that a special national costume day be held in Hafnarfjörður.

  The committee welcomes the proposal and asks Björn Pétursson to investigate whether it will be possible to hold such a national costume day in collaboration with the Folk Museum.;
