  The Family Council emphasises that work should begin on revising the procedures for handling consultations on operating licences for catering establishments, the introduction of a police by-law for the municipality and the review of section 57 of the Municipal Government of Hafnarfjörður, concerning the finalisation of certain matters by staff.;

  Geir Bjarnason, the prevention officer, and Guðmundur Einarsson from the health surveillance attended the meeting.

  The Family Council considers it important to maintain even more effective monitoring than is currently the case regarding the implementation of the Tobacco Control Act, including spot checks by prevention officers.;

  The Director of the Department gave a presentation on the matter. The matter is currently under consideration and preparation, and full account will be taken of the points raised in the minutes of the representative of the Independence Party from the council meeting on 7 October. last, and the information from the meeting with the Capital Region Police on 8th October last.;

• 0805175 – Tourism in Hafnarfjörður, regulations

  Proposals for changes to the regulations on travel services for disabled people have been put forward for a second time.

  The Family Council agrees to recommend to the Town Council: “The Town Council of Hafnarfjörður approves the proposed regulations on travel services for disabled people.“;

  An overview of child protection cases in Hafnarfjörður in August 2009 was presented.

  Two summaries from a focus group on young jobseekers were presented.

  The Director of the Department made a statement on the matter and its further consideration within the framework of the welfare watch.;

  Responses to questions from the representatives of the Independence Party from the last council meeting were presented.

  A proposal from the Snorra Project, dated 16 October 2009, was presented, requesting financial support for the year 2010 in the amount of kr. 100,000.

  The Family Council refers the matter to the 2010 budget.;
