In an email dated 07.08.2009, Professor Ólafur Guðmundsson requests that an earthquake sensor be installed in Krýsuvík. The earthquake sensor would be part of a network of up to 30 sensors that extends from the Thingvallavatn area in the east, west to Reykjanesvita. The intention is to operate the network for at least 2 years as part of a collaborative project between the University of Reykjavík, Uppsala University in Sweden, and MIT in the United States. The matter was on the agenda at the meeting of the planning and building officer on 12 August 2009 and was referred to the Environment Committee/sd21.

The Environment Committee / SD 21 is in favour of the proposal, provided that the area is returned to a satisfactory condition following the measurements and that all finishing work serves as an exemplary standard for installation.;

0909101 – Krýsuvík, expansion of a grazing enclosure for sheep
A proposal has been put forward to expand the grazing enclosure in Krýsuvík. The proposal follows the relocation of the sheep pen to the south side of Suðurstrandarveg.
The Environment Committee /sd 21 is in favour of extending the grazing enclosure to the west. However, the Committee would like to emphasise that sheep owners should form a sheep owners' association and thereby take part in the work of afforestation and the maintenance of the right of way.;
-
0909102 – Tree leaflet, presentation
Davíð Arnar Stefánsson, vice-chair of the Environment Committee/SD 21, will present a tree booklet published in Akureyri. It is proposed that the Municipality of Hafnarfjörður publish a similar booklet in which the town's notable trees are recorded and mapped with information on species, origin and history.
The SD 21 Environmental Committee welcomes the project and instructs the local agenda representative to carry out cost estimates.;
