• 0908194 – Operation of a café in Hellisgerði

  A proposal has been submitted by Sigríður Friðriksdóttir requesting the use of a house in Hellisgerði. The idea is to run a café there with an emphasis on Hellisgerði's distinctive features, such as elves, flora and history.

  The Culture and Tourism Committee welcomes the proposal but instructs the cultural and tourism officer to advertise for other interested parties to run the house, in order to ensure impartiality.;

• 0908126 – International Film Festival in Reykjavík.

  Information has been requested from the festival director about when events would take place at the Bæjarbíó, but no response has been received.

  A submitted email dated 1 September 2009 from Hrönn Marinósdóttir, the festival director, states that it will not be possible to hold a programme at the Bæjarbíó this year.;

• 0907142 – Line dancing festival in Hafnarfjörður, 30 July - 1 August

  A request for a line dancing festival has been submitted again. A waiver of the hire fee for a sports hall in Hafnarfjörður is requested. The request is being sent to all municipalities in the capital region. The event is dependent on the participation of international guests.

  The cultural and tourism representative has been tasked with exploring the possibility of the event taking place at the sports hall on Strandgata from 30th July to 1st August.;

• 0908117 – Hafnarfjörður Theatre, review of the contract

  The six-month interim report of the Hafnarfjörður Theatre for 2009 was presented, together with the municipal finance director's report. Further information on the theatre's finances for the 2008 annual accounts was requested.

  Review of the interim statement and the auditor's report.  The Chief Financial Officer's opinion reiterates that plans must be presented for how the theatre's financial restructuring will be carried out in relation to the current agreement.;
