0801395 – Education Policy of Hafnarfjörður, review
The chairman went over the final draft of the revised school policy for Hafnarfjörður.
The Education Committee approves the revised school policy of Hafnarfjörður and refers it to the town council for final approval. The Education Committee thanks the stakeholders who were involved in the revision of Hafnarfjörður's school policy for their valuable suggestions and cooperation.A representative of the Independence Party wishes to record:<SPAN lang=IS style=“mso-ansi-language: The revised 2009 School Policy of Hafnarfjörður is an ambitious document that provides an important vision of the school community we wish to develop in the municipality. However, it must be clearly emphasised that the school policy is only a guide and a vision for the future, and not an action plan. This is particularly important to bear in mind in the coming quarters, when cuts to various aspects of the council's operations are on the horizon, as many of the projects and objectives outlined in the school policy are costly and require increased funding. It is therefore unrealistic to expect that everything set out there can become a reality in the near future. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = “urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office„ The Education Committee thanks the observer members who are now leaving the committee for their pleasant collaboration.Observers left the meeting at 9:15 a.m.
