    • 0906081 – Review of the operating agreement for the FH Sports Centre in Kaplakriki

      Draft dated 3 June 2009 of the revised operating and lease agreement between Hafnarfjarðar Íþróttafélag and the City of Hafnarfjörður regarding the FH Sports Centre in Kaplakriki.

      The Sports and Leisure Committee approves the draft for its part and refers it for further processing.

    • 0906082 – Suðurbæjarlaug and Sundhöllin, maintenance works

      An overview of the maintenance work to be carried out this summer at the Suðurbæjarlaug and the Sundhöllin was presented.

    • 0906088 – The Performance Fund awards grants to young and promising individuals

      A list was presented of those who received a grant from the ÍBH Fund for Young and Promising Athletes, for athletes aged 15 to 20. The awards were made on 9 June.

    • 0906098 – Icelandic Powerboating 2009, grant application

      A proposal has been submitted from Magnús Ver Magnússon requesting a grant for the strength competition 'Kraftvíkingar Íslands', which will be held on 13 and 14 June.

      The Sports and Leisure Committee cannot grant the request.

      The programme for the 17th of June celebrations was presented. An advertisement was published in the Fjarðarpósturinn last Thursday, and a leaflet was distributed to every house in Hafnarfjörður last Monday.

    • 0904177 – Leisure and recreation offers in August

      The Head of Youth and Leisure Services reported on a collaboration between the council and the school office regarding play courses for nursery school leavers, which will be held in August.

      The Head of Youth and Leisure Services reported on a new joint project between the sports and recreation department and the school office: play courses for nursery school leavers to be held in August.

    • 0905088 – Summer leisure courses, increased accessibility and catering

      The Head of Youth and Leisure Services presented a scheme supported by the Children's Welfare Fund, which aims to increase access for children and young people to sports, games and leisure courses across the country this summer. The aim is to lower and subsidise participation fees, provide a lunch, increase employment opportunities for secondary school students, support families, support the courses, and thereby ensure greater access for children. The ITH has received a grant for play schemes, leisure activities and sports clubs.

      The chairman of ÍTH briefly reviewed the main findings of the 2009 study 'Substance Use among Young People in Hafnarfjörður', which was conducted by Rannsókn og greining among students in the 8th, 9th and 10th grades in Hafnarfjörður.
