General presentations

• Annual accounts 2008

  The 2008 annual accounts for the Hafnarfjörður Water Supply, the Hafnarfjörður Sewerage and the Housing Office were presented.

  An extra meeting of the Executive Board will be held next Wednesday at 12:15.;

• 0905240 – Road Act, bill

  A letter from the Association of Icelandic Municipalities, dated 27 May 2009, regarding the road register was presented.

  The Executive Council endorses the views expressed by the Association of Icelandic Municipalities.;

• 0701255 – Water storage tank, Áslandi III

  A memorandum from the Waterworks Manager was presented.

  Dagur Jónsson reported on the costs and progress.;

• 0701248 – Hamranes, landscaping area

  Taken up.

  The Executive Board agrees to extend the contract period until 31 August 2009.;

• 0902022 – Grindavík Seltún, septic tank and toilet

  The minutes of the Reykjanes Folk Park meeting of 31 March 2009 were taken up, in which cooperation with the City of Hafnarfjörður is requested to establish and operate a shelter and toilet facilities at Seltún. Referred to the council by the Planning and Building Committee.

  The Executive Committee reiterates its previous resolution that the project is not in this year's budget, but dry toilets will be installed on the site.;

• 0702005 – Master Plan of Hafnarfjörður, power lines and substations.

  A proposal for an amendment to the 2005–2025 Master Plan for Hafnarfjörður, concerning the electricity transmission system in the hinterland of Hafnarfjörður, was discussed. The preliminary environmental assessment report by the engineering firm Efla, dated 6 May 2009, was presented. The proposal is available at the following web addresses: www.sudvesturlinur.is; www.landsnet.is and www.efla.is. Referred to the council by the Planning and Building Committee.

  The Executive Committee agrees that the Executive Department and the Planning and Building Department will prepare a joint report on the matter and submit it to the Planning and Building Council.;

• 0707080 – Hamarsbraut, renewal of street and utility systems

  A report on the work was submitted. Halldór Ingólfsson of the Operations Department reviewed the matter.

  The final review is scheduled for 12 June.

• 0701027 – Outfall from the pumping and treatment station to Hraunsvík

  An updated work plan was presented.

  Kristján Stefánsson presented a new work plan.;

• 0704184 – Áslandsskóli, sports hall

  A memorandum from the headteacher of Ásland School, a report from the education manager and a report from the council's legal counsel were presented.

  The Executive Committee instructs the Executive Department to obtain information from the Icelandic Football Association regarding the construction of the pitch at Áslandsskóli. The Executive Committee refers the matter to the next meeting.;

• 0704009 – Miðhella 1, centre for artists

  To be taken up again

  The Executive Council instructs the Executive Office and the working group to further review the matter.;

• 0902027 – Bjarkavellir 3 Play and Primary School, demands

  A report from the Education Department was presented.

• 0702038 – South Bay Pool, maintenance issues

  Review of maintenance issues at the South Pool.
