A letter from the Mayor of Tartu, dated 6 March 2009, has been presented, inviting the Mayor to the Song Festival of Tartu this coming June. Tartu will cover the accommodation costs for two representatives.

The Town Board proposes to the Town Council:The Hafnarfjörður Town Council hereby resolves to take out a loan from the Municipal Loan Fund in the amount of 500,000,000 kr. for a term of 15 years, in accordance with the approved terms and conditions of the loan as presented at the meeting. The revenues of the municipality shall serve as security for the loan, pursuant to the authorisation in 3rd paragraph of Article 73 of the Municipal Act No. 45/1998. The loan is taken out to pay the repayment of short-term loan no. 0806019 with the fund, in accordance with Article 3 of the Act on the Establishment of a Public Limited Company for the Municipalities„ Loan Fund no. 150/2006.
Furthermore, the Mayor, Lúðvík Geirsson, reg. no. 210459-3839, is hereby granted full and unlimited authority on behalf of the Municipality of Hafnarfjörður to sign a loan agreement with the Municipal Loan Fund in accordance with the foregoing, as well as to receive, sign and issue, and deliver any and all documents, instructions and notices relating to this loan.

A list of clubs and societies that have applied for a grant towards the payment of property tax was presented.
The Town Council agrees to grant a grant to the listed organisations, equivalent to the amount of property tax for the year 2009.
The Town Council also agrees to instruct the Directorate of Administration and Finance to process any comparable applications that may be received at a later date.
