  A proposal from the Mayor of Veliky Novgorod is presented, announcing the XXIX Hansa Convention of New Time, to be held in the city to mark the celebrations for its 1150th anniversary from 18 to 21 June.

• 0810239 – Budget of the Municipality of Hafnarfjörður for 2009 and three-year plan for 2010-2012

  A letter from the Ministry of Transport, dated 16 February 2009, was presented, in which the good cooperation between the government and local authorities following the nation's economic difficulties is welcomed. It also reminds local authorities of the preparation and submission of their plans, both the annual and three-year plans.

  The town council advises that the council's plans have already been finalised.

  A letter from the Equalisation Fund dated 6 February 2009 was presented, concerning funding for housing benefit and the state's payment rate.

  The town council expresses its concern regarding the revenue shortfall of the equalisation fund and urges the Althingi to strengthen the fund in connection with the supplementary budget for 2009. Furthermore, the Mayor is instructed to reiterate the Council's understanding of the agreement between the Government of Iceland and the Association of Icelandic Municipalities of 1 April 2008.
