• 0706254 – Standardised assessment tests, primary schools

  A report on standardised assessment tests in Year 4, Year 7 and Year 10 in autumn 2009 was presented.

  The primary school development officer went over various figures from the report relating to the primary schools in Hafnarfjörður.;

• Implementation of the law on primary education

  The results of a survey conducted by the Social Science Institute of the University of Iceland for the Ministry of Education and Culture, among headteachers, on the implementation and execution of the 2008 Act on Basic Education, were presented.

  Draft agenda and timing for a seminar on increased collaboration between nursery and primary schools, to be held this spring, were presented.

  The seminar will be held at Víðistaðaskóli on Tuesday, 4th May at 13:30 – 16:30.;

• 10021349 – Northern Area, School Organisation

  The chairman presented the situation.

  An extra meeting of the Education Committee will be held on Thursday, 15th April at 12 noon in the School Office.Guðni Kjartansson left the meeting at 9:50.;

• 0806093 – Education Council, accreditations

  In the rules governing the Education Council's grant-awarding, it states: The aim of the Education Council of Hafnarfjörður's recognition of successful school work is to draw attention to the importance of school activities in the community. The Education Board will give special recognition and attention to individual school projects carried out within the school community in Hafnarfjörður. The award shall be presented annually.

  The Education Department has been tasked with advertising for nominations from the borough's schools.;
