A representative of the Independence Party on the Family Board wishes to record:
On 2 December 2009, the representative of the Independence Party put forward a proposal at a meeting of the Family Council, with the support of the representative of the Left-Green Party, to establish a working group for young unemployed people in Hafnarfjörður. The Council then adopted the proposal. On 19 January, a meeting for the working group was finally called. As a formal nomination has not yet been made in the Family Council as to who will chair the working group, the representative of the Independence Party proposes that the minority representative on the working group be appointed as its chair.

The Chair of the Council proposes that the Chair of the working group be Thorsteinn G. Gunnarsson.
The Family Council approves the proposal.
A representative of the Independence Party regrets that the Social Democratic Alliance majority in Hafnarfjörður does not show a genuine willingness to cooperate by giving the minority party the opportunity to lead a working group on Young Unemployed People. In this regard, it is worth pointing out that Oddný Sturludóttir, a minority representative on the Reykjavík City Council, leads the work of the city's Employment Committee.
